Hopscotch Motivation

Hopscotch! This photo brings back so many childhood memories. Hours of playing with my friends in the middle of the street and not going home until dark....it also reminds me of the moves we sometimes have to make to reach our ultimate career goals. Square #1 - Everyone has to start somewhere - maybe it's waiting tables, bagging groceries or volunteering your services for exposure - Squares #2 and #3 - You may need to have one foot in two squares at the same time - Everyone's heard of a Side Hustle right??? This may be necessary to make ends meet for a while. Once you have worked your way halfway up the ladder, you just may lose your balance, fall over, have to go all the way back to the start and pay your dues all over again. You throw that rock again to target your goal having learned from your previous mistakes. And you're back on a new journey. You've taken pay cuts. You've gotten pay raises. Maybe you've been laid off or even gotten that long-awaited promotion. The promotion brings with it the responsibility of learning a new and more demanding role. This brings new lessons - new failures - new successes. Repeating steps 1 to 10 all over again. This is the REAL job ladder friends! It involves stops, starts, and pauses in-between. The real question is whether you are able to motivate yourself to keep going, and just like in hopscotch...no matter where you're at in your job search or quest toward your dream job - KEEP MOVING forward!
